Mrs. Drake was born in Letterman Hospital at the Presidio in San Fransisco, Calif. in 1928. An Army brat, she moved often and lived in the Panama Canal Zone; Ft. Monroe, VA; Portland, ME; Ft. Kamahamaha, HI; Oswego, NY; Falmouth, MA and Ft. Totton. She spent the war years in Daytona Beach, graduating from Seabreeze High School, and then attended Florida State College for Women in 1946. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, and then in 1948 she married fellow FSU student and Tallahassee native, Fred O. Drake, Jr. Fred and Roberta lived here for the next 65 years.

Roberta was a beautiful and gracious member of Tallahassee society. She was a member of the Junior League and Tallahassee Garden Club, "Babies Breath" Circle. She was also an avid bridge player, golfer and tennis player who enjoyed playing as well as watching sports, especially the Seminoles! Later in life, she returned to bridge with a vengeance, and played regularly at the Senior Center and Weswtminster Oaks.

She is survived by her children; Van Drake (Lisa), Dan Drake (Kathy) and Lee Dillon (Dan); as well as her grandchildren, Tad, Taylor, Molly, Jessica, Alex, Anna, Patrick, Deirdre and Colin. She is also survived by her dear friend, Annie Barber.

Mrs. Drake was preceded in death by her husband Fred O. Drake, Jr.; a son Fred O. Drake, III; her parents Robert J. and Suzie Dilworth Van Buskirk; and sisters, Suzy and Nanny.

Other Services will be held: The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 8 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mrs. Drakes home at 2044 Thomasville Road.
