Martha E. "Betty" Devine, 82, beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away May 30, 2009 at home in Tallahassee.

Martha was born on March 25, 1927 in Boca Raton. She spent most of her adult life in Tallahassee. She was a graduate of Florida State College for Women where she earned her BA in social work. She later returned to FSU and earned a degree in teaching.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan M. Wright (Joe), Betsy Clementine Moore, a son, John Worth Moore, two grandchildren, Erin Nuhu (Abdul) and Virginia Wright (Brandon Coates), three great grandchildren, and two stepsons, Matthew and Peter Devine. She was preceded in death by her late husband Edward D. Devine, her mother Clementine Peterson Brown and her father John Grover Brown, who was the first elected mayor of Boca Raton.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 2nd at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee. In lieu of flowers the family requests for donations to be made to Big Bend Hospice at 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
