Mrs. Bee was born October 8, 1924 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Marguerite and John Willard Bee. After graduating from Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus, Mississippi, she married Dr. Warren Nation and moved to Tallahassee in the 1950's.
She later retired after many years with the Office of the Attorney General of Florida, as well as the Office of the Governor. Following her retirement she pursued her many interests which included writing, drama, bridge, and her volunteer work at Faith Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy Adams (Park); her son John Nation (Elaine); and grandchildren Will Gerstman, Nicole Nation and Savannah Nation, all of Tallahassee. She is also survived by her brother Monte Bee (Jean) of Jackson, MS; and many other loving family members. She will be also missed by her many longtime friends.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the caring staff at Woodmont Assisted Living; Michael Lyons and his team at Big Bend Hospice; as well as Betsy's Caregivers, Lekesha Mathis and Carol Brown.
Following the memorial service a celebration of Betsy's life will take place at the home of Nancy and Park Adams, 999 Live Oak Plantation Road in Tallahassee.
