Stanley was born in 1954 in Talahassee, and graduated from Rickards High School in 1972. In the beginning of his career he was emloyed by Chenoweth Distributors, and later worked as an independent contractor in construction.

He is survived by two daughters, Stacey Paterson (and husband Tomis) and Candace Causseaux; his grandson Gavin Paterson; his sister Glenda Dailey; and his brother Allen Causseaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Inez Causseaux.
