Mr. Core was a native of Tallahassee and a lifelong resident of Tallahassee and Wakulla County. He retired as a supply supervisor with DMV, which put him in contact with people from all of the State. A lifelong avid hunter, he was turkey hunting on the family farm a few days before his death. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Cindy Wyatt (John) of Crawfordville, Charlotte Roman of Tallahassee, Pam Jaarfar (Wolfgang) of Austria, Laura Martin (Bryan) of California and Valerie Chason (Tommy) also of Tallahassee; one son Alex Robinette (Sheila) of Tallahassee; one brother Jerry Core (Marilyn) of Houston, TX; eleven grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Core and Maude Nails Core; a son Tommy Core; and a daughter Patricia Crosby.
