Bernice was born December 3, 1918 in Rochelle, GA. She moved with her family at the age of 5 to Miami, FL. She married James Lewis Brundage and they settled in Miami Shores, where they owned the local hardware store for over thirty years. James was killed in an auto accident in 1954. In 1972 Bernice moved to Tallahassee and married Kermit Daywalt in 1986. She was a longtime member of the Elketts(BPOE 937), the homemakers club and other civic organizations and she was of the Presbyterian faith. She and Kermit have been retired and living at Westminster Oaks for the past 14 years. She is survived by her husband, Kermit Daywalt of Tallahassee, a son, David Brundage of Laguna Niguel, CA. and a step-son, Ted Daywalt and his wife Belinda of Roswell, GA. Two daughters,Suzanne Steward of Wilton Manors, Fl. and Jamie Tatum and her husband Lloyd of Lake Placid,Fl. Two step-daughters, Susan Raymond and her husband Kevin of Tallahassee and Carol Cooke and her husband Tony of Capistrano Beach, Ca. Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. No local services will be held and interment servies will be held at a later date in Miami.
