Mrs. Egan was born June 17, 1923 in Berlin, New Hampshire and has resided in Tallahassee since 1957. She received her RN degree from Massachusetts General Hopital in Boston and her BSN from Florida State University. For more than thirty years she was a devoted employee of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital; the majority of that time spent in the newborn nursery and labor and delivery.

In addition to her love for infants, she was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a constant source of encouragement and inspiration to all who knew her and had a great respect for education. She enjoyed visiting her family and all of their pets, and enjoyed the sport of basketball and golf. And her front yard full of squirrels and birds were an ongoing source of enjoyment.

She was preceded in death in 1969 by her husband John W. Egan. Survivors include her four loving children, Anne Patronis (John), John Egan (Dixie), Dennis Egan (Judy) and Mary Lou Ramirez (Pete); four devoted grandchildren, Justin Harris (Lori), Clinton Harris, Will Kirby and Ian Kirby; and her two precious great-grandchildren, Sarah Grace and Jaclyn. In addition, she is survived by her loving step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
