He was born December 18, 1918 in Malden, Mass. He joined the United States Army on July 1, 1937 and fought in the European Theater, he landed on Omaha Beach, D-Day plus 1 and proudly fought for the freedom of this country. He retired as Sgt First Class on December 31, 1957. Edward loved his family, friends and his country. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, painting and he loved to sing. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Roberts Coe, a son, Edward "Eddie" Coe, Jr. and his wife Sarah, of Tallahassee, and a daughter, Sandra Coe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. His grandchildren, Tonia Coe Kelly, Edward Coe III, Heather Kelle, Mary Leary, Frank Coe, James Coe, Cleve Godwin, Troy Godwin and Jeffery Godwin. and 12 great grandchildren.
Other Services will be held: Interment at Olympia Cemetery, with full Military Honors Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM
