George W. Simpson, age 88 of Lebanon, died Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home. He was born February 27, 1925 to the late Joseph Hayden and Mary Simpson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William O. "Tutt" Simpson and Paul I. Simpson; one sister, Mary Catherine Edwards; a granddaughter, Phyllis Ann Simpson; and a great-grandson, Nathan Dunigan.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Beatrice Simpson of Lebanon; one son, Walter Lee Simpson of Frankfort; two daughters, Joyce A. Ford of Lebanon and Georgia Mae Dunigan of Versailles; one sister, Mary Catherine Ridgeway of Lebanon; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren also survive along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for George W. Simpson will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery with Military honors.
Family requests visitation after 5 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
