Jerry Hayden, age 66 of Lebanon, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born August 13, 1947 to Aline Pendygraft Hayden of Lebanon and the late William Thomas Hayden.

He served his country for six years in the 196th Infantry during the Vietnam War. He received a purple heart for wounds sustained in combat.

He was a certified EMT for 30 years, devoting weekends and holidays to saving lives.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann McNear Hayden; one brother, George Hayden; and two sisters, Linda Turner and Debbie Downs.

Besides his mother, he is survived by one son, Jerry Wayne Hayden; and two sisters, Pam Garrett and Jackie Reynolds all of Lebanon, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Jerry Hayden will be conducted at 11:30 AM Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family requests visitation after 5 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
