Mildred Kathleen Smothers Walls, age 95, of Bradfordsville, died Sunday, September 12, 2015 in Louisville after an illness. She was born March 17, 1920 in Marion County to the late Dan and Lillie Mae Howell Smothers, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Walls, one brother, Raymond Smothers, three sisters, Mabel Ford, Sarah May, and Mae Smothers, one grandson, Steven Hourigan, two son-in-laws, Jerry Courtwright and Bobby Hourigan.
Mrs. Walls was a Kentucky Colonel, an active member in the Bradfordsville community serving as the City Commissioner along with many other organizations.
Mrs. Walls is survived by three sons and three daughters: Thomas(Julie) and Jerry(Connie) Walls of Lebanon, Donald(Joan) Walls of Campbellsville, Shelby Courtwright of Bradfordsville, Mary Frances Hourigan of Lebanon, and Pam(Joe) George of Louisville, two sisters, Frances Bright of Campbellsville and Edith Rakes of Bradfordsville, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren also survive along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Mildred Kathleen Smothers Walls were conducted September 18, 2015 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Old Liberty Cemetery. Brother John Simpson officiated.
