James Monroe Reynolds, 92 of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017. He was born in Lebanon, KY on May 7, 1925 to the late Cora Burress and George Reynolds.
Monroe was best known as a hardworking man who worked the land for many years as a dairy and beef cattle farmer. He was a WWII Army Veteran, who spent time in the service stationed in Hawaii. He was a devout Christian man and a deacon emeritus of the Lebanon Baptist Church. He was witness to the word of God and never met a stranger. He was a loving Husband, Father, Papaw and friend who will be missed greatly.
In addition to his parents, Monroe was preceded in death by his wife; Eunice Spalding Reynolds, an infant daughter by the name of Clara Jeanne, two brothers; Leo Reynolds and Clayton Sullivan, a sister; Edith Ann Bugg, and his second wife; Evelyn Anderson Reynolds.
Monroe is survived by his five children; James Michael "Mike" Reynolds and his wife Delores "Lois", Larry Reynolds and his wife Carol all of Lebanon, Connie Osborne and Tammy Downs both of Bardstown, and Tracey Rhinehart and her husband Greg of Campbellsville. Survivors also include a sister; Clara Evans and Brother, Jerry Reynolds, fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ilda Malone also survives along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Lebanon Baptist Church, Mulberry Street in Lebanon, KY with burial to follow in the Old Liberty Cemetery in Bradfordsville, KY.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Monday at Lebanon Baptist Church.
