Mrs. Nellie Alice (Cotton) Tyree age 78, of Mt.Vernon died Tuesday January 19, 2010 at

her home after a long illness. She was born on June 6, 1931 in Rockcastle County the

daughter of the late James H. and Nannie Ethel Miller Tyree. She was a homemaker,

enjoyed fishing & working in her flowers, and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are: six sons; Boyd and Jessie Cotton both of Mt.Vernon, James T.,

John, and Dwight Cotton all of Ohio, and Dan Cotton of Indiana. Three daughters; Mary

Cotton Gadd, Betty Cotton Cromer, and Sissy Cotton Hunt all of Mt.Vernon. Three

brothers; Lloyd, James, and Charles Tyree, and three sisters; Mabel Marler, Emma

Terpening, and Dorothy Bellamy. 28 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a

host of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by: one son; Arnold

Jackson Cotton, and by two sisters; Bessie Lee Tyree, and Kathryn Sandlin.
