Mrs. Julia Sowder age 63, of Berea died Thursday June 10, 2010 at her home after a long

illness. She was born on October 9, 1946 in Bell County, KY the daughter of the late

Marsh and Lula Bailey Mills. She was a retired nurse, enjoyed gardening & bird

watching, and was a member of the Silver Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors are: two sons; Keith Sowder of Richmond, and Richie Sowder of

Berea. One daughter; Mrs. Pamela Arney of Berea. One brother; Elbert Mills of

Barbourville. Five sisters; Mrs. Betty Mills, Mrs. Kathy Gambrel, and Mrs. Judy Gibson

all of Barbourville, Mrs. Sue Bates of Berea, and Mrs. Effie Miller of Salem, Ind. Five

grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one very special friend: Oliver Forsythe of

Berea also survive. She was preceded in death by: her husband; Ernest Sowder.
