Gerald Manuel Canada, of the Canadatown Community, Williamsburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. He was 57 years, 11 months and 19 days of age. He was born on April 11, 1954 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late, Clifford Canada and Minnie Meadors Canada. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Christine Yocum. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of God.
He is survived by his five children, Gerald Roy Canada of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Tammy Canada Plotnick of Corbin, Kentucky, Travis William Canada and his wife Jennifer of Rockholds, Kentucky, Chad Canada and his wife Tarrah of Woodbine, Kentucky and Shannon Canada of Woodbine, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; three sisters, Wanda Meadors of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Juanita Sulfridge and Verna Elsworth, both of Corbin, Kentucky; three brothers, Ray Canada and his wife Jo Ann of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Kenneth Canada and his wife Mary and Arthur Canada, all of Rockholds, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Pleasant Hill Church of God.
The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Pleasant Hill Church of God with Rev. Bill Meadors and Rev. Roger Meadors officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg.
