David Ray Baird of Williamsburg, Kentucky departed his life on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was 52 years, 11 months, and 10 days of age. He was born on May 23, 1959 in Corbin, Kentucky to Wilma Jean Perkins Baird and the late Ray Baird. He was a Veteran in the U. S. Navy and a member of the VFW Post 3167 of Williamsburg.

He is survived by one daughter, Sarah McKenzie Baird of Scottsdale, Arizona; his mother, Wilma Perkins Baird of Williamsburg, Kentucky; one sister, Teresa Baird Williams and husband Bill of Corbin, Kentucky; one brother, Mike Baird and wife Maureen of Williamsburg, Kentucky; two nieces, Heather Chadwell of Barbourville, Kentucky and Tiffany Potillo of Bradenton, Florida; nephew, Brandon Boyd of Somerset, Kentucky; uncles, Mart Baird and wife Ollie, Bill Perkins and wife Alice, Roy Perkins and wife Nadine, and Archie Perkins and wife Bessie, all of Williamsburg, Kentucky; aunts, Elsie Hamblin of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Irene Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio, Retha Walter of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kathy Hoffman and husband John of Florence, Kentucky, and Pat Bordes and Gerard of Winchester, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home.

There will be a Private Family Funeral Service on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Lester officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Youngs Creek Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 88. Tom Shelton, Dennis Jones, Howard Hubbs, Trae Wyatt, Blaine Wyatt, Greg Wyatt, Gerard Bordes, and Chris Chadwell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Perkins, Mark Baird, J.B. Johnson, Jerome Walker, Rick Prewitt, Travis Thacker, Geo Martin, Elbert Hamblin, Mark Hamblin, Mike Harris and Ron Trosper.
