Jerry Wayne Collett of the Nevisdale Community, Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was 63 years, 10 months, and 11 days of age. He was born on July 8, 1948 in Bell County, Kentucky to the late Roy Collett and Sarah Roark Collett. He is also preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Charles Collett, father-in-law, J.C. Hamblin, and mother-in-law, Mary Hamblin. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served two tours in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife Renea Hamblin Collett of Williamsburg, Kentucky; three children, Ladona Collett, Miranda Renea Collet, and Amanda Renea Collett all of Williamsburg, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Dakota Collett and Jordan Collett of Williamsburg, Kentucky; two sisters, Evelyn (Roy) Prewitt and Betty (Connie) Maiden all of Williamsburg, Kentucky; brothers, Lee Roy (Carol) Collett of Fritch, Texas, Jimmy (Linda) Collett of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Bleve Collett (Valarie) of Knoxville, Tennessee; half-brother, Edward Roark of Williamsburg, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Michael Hamblin (Rhonda) of Nevisdale, Kentucky; special friend, Darrell Siler; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Croley officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hamblin-Collett Cemetery. Military Graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 88.
