Edith Marie Bradford of Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. She was 88 years, 4 months, and 12 days of age. She was born on February 11, 1924 to the late Homer Lewallen and Nerva Evans Lewallen. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Warren Bradford; daughter, Carolyn Bradford; and infant, James David Bradford. She was a school teacher in Whitley County for over sixty years. She was also a member of the Mossy Gap Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Brown of Johnson City, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Stephanie Browning (Robert) of Columbia, Maryland and Cory Brown of Johnson City, Tennessee; cousins, Brenda Gibbs, Susan Powers, and Richard Gibbs (Sue) all of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Eddie Gibbs Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee; special family friend, Tressia Sprinkles of Williamsburg, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until the funeral hour on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The Funeral Service will be at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Mullins officiating. Following an 11:00 A.M. Graveside Service on Monday, June 25, 2012, she will be laid to rest in the Mossy Gap Cemetery.
