On Thursday, July 29, 1954 Tommy Bird grabbed his bat, glove and ball and took to the field, in the game of life. On Sunday, August 19th he rounded third and headed for home.
He was an avid baseball fan, reader and music lover. He was known for his sense of humor, and his love for family and friends, among various other things. Tommy enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest.
Tommy is preceded in death by his father and mother; Tom Bird and Nonia Sue Bird.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Bird of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; two sons, Travis Bird and Aaron Bird, both of Williamsburg, Kentucky; one brother, Doyle Bird also of Williamsburg, Kentucky; as well as a host of family and friends, including a special son, Alan Hill.
A Memorial Service will be held at Croley Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 22, 2012.
Visitation will start at 6:00 P.M. Alan Hill, Terry Stigall, Elbert Douglas, Dr. Dennis Faulkner, Donnie Witt and B.J. Amburgey will serve as pallbearers.
