Bobby Tom Carter of Bowlin Road, Emlyn, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at his home. He was 74 years, 6 months and 27 days of age. He was born on November 14, 1938 in Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Preston Carter and Mary Lou Bowlin Carter. He was a veteran of the United States Army Airborne having served six years. He was a member of the Pleasant View United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #154 of Jellico, Tennessee, the Campbell County Honor Guard and the Masonic Lodge #490 F&AM of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife Alice June Carter of Emlyn, Kentucky; two children, Jay Christopher Carter (Beverly) of Corbin, Kentucky and Laurel Carter Killion (Rod) of Williamsburg, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Andrew Carter and Ashten Carter; nieces, Carman Bobbit of Smyrna, Tennessee, Jamie Sullivan of Gallatin, Tennessee and Lisa Barnes of Clarksville, Tennessee; several great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Croley Funeral Home.
A Masonic Service will be conducted by the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge #490 F&AM at 7:30 P.M. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Croley Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Lee and Rev. Harold Long officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Emlyn Cemetery following Military Graveside Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #154 of Jellico, Tennessee.
