Wendell Ball of Becks Creek Road, Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Jean Waddle Care Center Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Kentucky. He was 70 years and 1 month of age. He was born on December 4, 1943 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late William "Bill" Ball and Lois Byrd Ball. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Ball and a brother, Billy Ball. Wendell was a graduate of Williamsburg High School and Cumberland College. He was a historian of the Old West and an instructor of 5th Degree Black Belt Shorin-Ryu Karate.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Ball of Williamsburg, Kentucky; one son, Derek Ball of Lexington, Kentucky; two stepchildren, Emily Jeanette Good of Michigan and Baine Scott Inman of Pineville, Kentucky; a step-grandson, Alex Klezcz of Michigan; three sisters, Linda Moses (Harold), Nola "Tudy" Ball and Debbie Wilson, all of Williamsburg, Kentucky; two brothers, Gary Ball and Randy Ball (Carol), all of Williamsburg, Kentucky; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
