Gordon John Brower, age 75, of Lily School Road, Lily, Kentucky passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at his home. He was born on April 14, 1939 in Gladstone, Michigan to the late Clifford Brower and Delia (Thurston) Brower. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Brower; a step-daughter, Patricia Crider; a brother, Bernard Brower and a sister, Beverly Nielsen. He was a member of Level Green Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Marines.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Sulfridge) Brower of Lily, Kentucky; five children, Scott Brower of Memphis, Tennessee, Dawn Ganzel (James) of Gladstone, Michigan, Troy Brower (Stephanie) of Munford, Tennessee, Tracy Brower (Steve Allen) of Louisville, Mississippi and Kelly Hill (Michael) of Bartlett, Tennessee; three step-children, Deborah Bennett and Lee David Bennett, both of Lily, Kentucky and Scott Bennett (Allison) of Rome, Georgia; grandchildren, Wendy, Sarah, Dan, Jaime, Eric, Ashley, Michael, Justin, Victoria and Jennifer; a grandson who was raised by Gordon, Devin Crider; great grandchildren, Desmond, Destany and Victoria; two brothers, Bill Brower of Gladstone, Michigan and Joe Erickson of Carlsend, Michigan; three sisters, Eunice VanElsacker of Ford River, Michigan, Judy Frazier of Escanaba, Michigan and Phyllis Spade of Rockford, Illinois; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Ellis officiating. He will be laid to rest in the East View Garden Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin, Kentucky.
