James "Jim" Granville Buhel

James Granville "Jim" Buhel, age 72 of Leitchfield, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Hardinsburg, Kentucky on May 31, 1942, the son of the late William M. and Anna Mae Wilson Buhel. Jim retired from the Breckinridge County Board of Education having taught for many years in several of the county schools. He was the former equipment manager for the BCHS Fighting Tigers football team, former photographer and videographer for BCHS sports. He and his wife Wanda were cheer coaches for BCHS, Irvington Elementary and Custer Elementary cheerleaders as well as basketball coach at Ben Johnson and Custer Elementary schools. He was the former pool supervisor at Breckinridge County Community Center, a former member of the Hardinsburg Masonic Lodge, Shriner and American Legion Post 81 in Leitchfield, Kentucky. He enjoyed drag racing, golf and "tinkering" with vehicles. He and Wanda were foster parents for many years and he was very instrumental in shaping the lives of several students that he taught. He was an Air Force veteran and spent much time as a photographer during his service years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy White.

Jim is survived by his wife Wanda Creekmore Buhel of Fordsville, Kentucky; two daughters, Teresa Zigler and her husband Paul of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Kristie Reynolds and her husband Todd of Leitchfield, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren, Craig and Jessica Zigler and Johnathan and Josie Reynolds; 2 great-grandchildren:, Sydney and Kyen Zigler; 1 sister, Helen Fentress of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Wolf Creek Cemetery. Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin, Kentucky.
