Howard Disel Buhl, age 86, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by those he loved, on March 12, 2015. Disel was known throughout the community as owner and operator of Buhl's Chevron in Williamsburg for more than fifty years.

Born on February 17, 1929 to Rosa (Smith) Buhl and Murph Buhl, he lived most of his life in Williamsburg.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Geraldine, his parents, Rosa and Murph Buhl, his daughter, Pamela, grandson, Wesley Disel, great-grandchildren, Auston and Isabella, brothers, William, James, Robert Lee, Harley, and Willard Buhl, and sisters Emaline Alder, Hazel White, Maxine Stanfield, and Pauline Snowden.

He is survived by his daughters, Janice Manning of Rockholds, (husband, Conley) Phyllis Patton of Charlotte, NC (husband, Ed), son-in-law Ronnie Chinn of Williamsburg, granddaughters Karen West (husband Brent), Michelle Ravish (husband Matt) of Winston-Salem, NC and Ann Turner (husband Dave) of Williamsburg; one grandson, Dustin Chinn (wife Chandal) of Williamsburg; great grandchildren: Kyle West, Madison Anderson, Blake Walters, Savannah Turner, Alyssa Chinn, Riley Chinn, Abigail Chinn, Grace Meddles, Chase Meddles, and Gabe Meddles of Williamsburg; Eli Ravish, and Lucas Ravish of Winton-Salem, NC; special companion Roxie Lee, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends who mourn his passing.

Disel was a generous man who lived life to the fullest and made it a priority to take care of others and to bring smiles to their faces. He enjoyed spending free time relaxing on the lake, in the warm Florida sunshine, and exploring the sites of this country in which he lived. He knew the value of a day's work, believed in doing things correctly the first time, and stayed optimistic on the most difficult of days. He attended Grace Christian Fellowship Church.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Croley Funeral Home.

A Masonic Service will be conducted by the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge # 490 F &AM at 7:30 P.M. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Croley Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Mullins officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Davis Addition of Highland Park Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Grace Fellowship Church Building Fund.
