Opal Williams Short, age 72, of Corunna, Indiana, formerly of Knott County, KY, passed away July 16, 2010 at the North Lakes Nursing Home in Angola, Indiana. She was born in Knott County, Kentucky on February 20, 1938 to Dingus Williams and Stella Smith Williams. She is survived by her husband: Denzil Short; sons: Ricky and Dan Short; daughters: Darlene Stonebreaker and Debra Close; brothers: Kelly Williams, Shelby Williams and Marcus Williams; sisters: Sarah Combs, Barb Hays, Elouise Hays and Evelyn Risner; 7 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Opal was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Terry Lee Short; sisters: Lettie Hall, Jeanette Sparkman, Kathy Reynolds and Ellerie Thakcer; brothers: Bobby and Earnie Williams. Funeral services will be 1PM, Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Orlo Fisher, Kenneth Ritchie and Ricky Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Short Cemetery at Talcum, Kentucky. Friends may call for visitation at the chapel, Monday after 6PM with additional services Monday evening at 7PM.
