John A. "Pilton" Prewitt, age 84, of Carrie, Kentucky, passed away July 18, 2010 at the Hazard Nursing Home. He was born in Knott County, Kentucky on February 2, 1926 to John Prewitt and Ottie Mae Combs Prewitt. He is survived by brothers: Ova (Doris) Combs and Oliver (Sylvia) Combs; sisters: Virginia (Carl) Wells, Rita Jane (James) Combs and Olive Pearl (James) Tolson; sister-in-law: Ann Combs; special friend: Doug Neace; special cousins: Janie, Charlie and Brenda. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and 2 brothers: Robert and Orbin. Funeral services will be 1PM, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Ricky Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Martin Cemetery at Carrie, Kentucky. Friends may call for visitation at the chapel, Tuesday from 6-9PM.
