Willard J. Watson, age 79, of Stoner Creek Road, Elkhorn, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington after an illness.
He was the son of the late Gene and Linnie Bottoms Watson. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Collins, one brother Bill Watson and one sister, Madeline Cheek. He was retired from the Railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Lona Watson, four sons, six daughters and their spouses, Terry and Patricia Watson of Glasgow, Billy Watson of Indiana, Mark Watson of Saloma, Larry Watson of Arizona, Sonya and Chester Wittington and Felicia and Keith Greer all of Roley, Althea and Steve Hughes of Florida, Kathy and Joe Turner of Greensburg, and Patsy Watson of Danville and four step-children, Connie Logan, Cindy Terry, Jimmy McGinley and Jeff McGinley all of Indiana. Thirty two grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren also survive along with three sisters, Norma Collins, Stella Tucker and Joyce Morris all of Columbia.
Funeral services for Mr. Willard J. Watson will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Robinson Chapel Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County DAV.
