Zelma Lawson Cheek, 90, of Jesup, Georgia, formally of Taylor County, diied Tuesday, March 31, 2009 after an extended illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Murty Lawson, her husband, Quaver Lawson (March 29, 1986), brothers, Waymon Lawson, Charlie Lawson, Riley Lawson, sisters, Marilyn White and Annie Robinson.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry and Claudia Cheek, Michael and Cheryl Cheek, Bobby and Shirley Cheek all of Sparta Georgia, Cecil Cheek of Louisville and Jewell and Charles Swartz of Elizabethtown, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Chester and Laura Belle Lawson of Campbellsville, Gordon and Edna Lawson of Indiana. Several nieces, nephews and host of friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2PM, Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in Feathersburg Cemetery.
