Edwin Allen Gilpin , 87, of S. Columbia Ave, Campbellsville, Ky, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Medco Nursing Home after an illness.

He was the son of the late Nolen and Viva Alice White Gilpin. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Leslie Gilpin and Forest Chandler Gilpin and one sister, Margaret Gilpin. He was a lifetime member of Soules Chapel Methodist Church, a World War II veteran and a farmer.

He was united in marriage to Irma “Jane” Gilpin on March 2, 1951, who survives., also surviving is one brother and sister-in-law, Nolen (Hotshot) Gilpin & Shirley Gilpin of Campbellsville, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM, Monday at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County DAV.
