Mrs. Mabel Lucille Abney Randolph, age 77 of Brodhead, Kentucky passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011 at the St. Joseph Hospital Berea.

Mabel entered into this life on April 16, 1933 in Bonds Mill, Kentucky the daughter of George Harrison and Genieva Adams Abney, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 3, 1951 she was united in marriage to William F. “Bill” Randolph and to their union came two children to richly bless their home. Mabel will be fondly remembered by her community for operating the Foodland of Brodhead. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a licensed airplane pilot, and was a member of the Kentucky Flying Club, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mabel will be remembered for her love of traveling, and hiking.

Mabel will be lovingly remembered by her children: Randy Randolph of Brodhead, Kentucky; and Lisa Parks of Brodhead, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Brad Hunt and his wife Kaliesa, Leslie Hunt Hall and her husband David, and Megan Randolph; a step great grandchild: Austin Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her infant son; her parents: George Harrison and Genieva Adams Abney; Her significant other: Cornell Meece; seven brothers; and six sisters.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mabel Randolph will be conducted on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 1:00 PM, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, with Bro. Josh Chasteen and Bro. Darrin Cupp officiating. Interment will follow in the Sayer Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Mabel Randolph will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Those acting as casket bearers are: Curtis Parks, Jay B. Stevens, Brad Hunt, David Hall, Mike McClure and Dwight Bowling. Honorary casket bearers are: Chris Poynter, Roger Isaacs, Rick Childress and Kenny Earl Childress.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Randolph may be made to the Sayer Cemetery.
