Mrs. Sue Beth Holman Cox, age 91, of Brodhead, Kentucky passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

Sue entered this life on May 9, 1919 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Lina Pearl Coffey Holman, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Brodhead High School and was united in marriage on July 3, 1942 to Casper Clarence Cox and to this union came a son to richly bless their home. Sue was a homemaker and spent her days loving and caring for her family. She was a lifelong member of the Brodhead Baptist Church and will be remembered for her love of quilting and flowers.

Sue will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Paula Kay Smith and her husband Eddie of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Paul Ray Cox, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Butler, Kentucky; four great grandchildren: Michael Smith, Bethanie Smith, Haleigh Cox and Zachary Cox; and her daughter in law: Ruth Ann Cox of Frankfort, Kentucky; and several beloved nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Casper Clarence Cox, her son: Paul Ray Cox, her parents: Thomas Jefferson and Lina Pearl Coffey Holman, Five brothers: Harrison Holman, Craig Holman, Carroll Holman, Thomas Holman and John Holman, and three sisters: Lauviece Monk, Ruth Holman, and Elizabeth Holman.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Cox will be conducted on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Luther Allen and Bro. Mark Whicker officiating. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Sue Cox will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 11am 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Those acting as casket bearers are: Cecil Hampton, Buddy Hawkins, Michael Smith, Donnie Cox and Mark and John Dyehouse. Honorary casket bearers are Ernestine Hampton, Gladys Roberts, Ted Roberts, Clara Faye Hawkins and Luther and Bonnie Rose.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Sue Cox may be made to the Brodhead Baptist Church, P.O. Box 142, Brodhead, Kentucky 40409.
