Mrs. Edwina Kathleen Denney Brock, age 75, of Brodhead, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at her home.
Kathleen entered into this life on March 3, 1936 in Elrod, Kentucky, the daughter of Virgil Roscoe and Ollie Mae VanHook Denney, both of whom preceded her in death. Kathleen was united in marriage on June 7, 1956 to Teddy Brock; and to their union came three children to richly bless their home. She was a farmer and will be remembered for the love she had for her family, quilting, taking pictures and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. She was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
Kathleen will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Deborah Kay Oates and her husband James Keith of Augusta, West Virginia; Patricia Gale Brown and her husband Mike of Brodhead, Kentucky; and Anthony Brock and his wife Jennifer of Brodhead, Kentucky; eight grandchildren: James Stephen Oates, Rachel Anne Norton, Holly Michelle Brown, Steven Michael Brown, Jonathon Brock Oates, Aaron, Surprise and Gabriel Stallsworth; five great grandchildren: Aiden Maurice Norton, Kayla Dawn White, Janel Rose Beatty, Kimhari Elise and Jackson Stallsworth; one great great grandchild: Elizabeth Janene White; two brothers: Vernon Lee Denney and his wife Addie Jo and Noah Glen Denney and his wife Wilma; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Virgil Roscoe and Ollie Mae VanHook Denney; her husband: Teddy Brock; one brother: Joseph Walker Denney, and one sister: Lois Geneva Hardwick.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Brock will be conducted on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11 A.M. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bros. Rick Reynolds, Jack Stallsworth and her grandson Bro. Stephen Oates officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Kathleen Brock will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 6-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.
Those acting as casket bearers are: Stephen Oates, Jonathon Oates, Steven Brown, Ronnie Denney, Edwin Denney and Ralph Duffett. Honorary casket bearers are: Aaron Stallsworth and Gabriel Stallsworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Kathleen may be made to the Good Hope Baptist Church Building Fund.
