Mrs. Janette Brown Igo, age 69 of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Janette entered into this life on July 24, 1941 in Brodhead, Kentucky the daughter of Delbert and Callie Asher Bishop both of whom preceded her in death. She was an LPN for 16 years and had worked for Sowders Nursing Home for 33 years as a Nurses Aid. She was united in marriage to Earl Igo and they shared a wonderful life together. Janette attended Valley Baptist Church and was a member of the Kentucky Fraternal Association of Registered Nurses and LPN’S. She will be remembered for her love of vacations and traveling, flowers, gardening, sewing, and collecting antiques.
Janette will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Earl Igo of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; two daughters: Dana Shelton and her husband Bro. Tony of Brodhead, Kentucky, and Penny Nicely and her fiancée Bill Smith of Brodhead, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Alicia Shea Brumer of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Katie Clontz and her husband Phil of Brodhead, Kentucky, and Timber Craig and her husband Kris of Corbin, Kentucky; two great grandchildren: Harley Shea Cope, and Selena Faith Brumer; four brothers: Roy Bishop of Brodhead, Kentucky, Gene Bishop and his wife Shandra of Lexington, Kentucky, Dale Bishop and his wife Linda of Somerset, Kentucky and Merle Asher and his wife Lorraine of Santa Fe, New Mexico; two sisters: Debbie Lewis and her husband Terry of Harrodsburg, Kentucky and Darlene Pitts of Lexington, Kentucky; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her first husband: David “Dody” Brown; her parents: Delbert and Callie Asher Bishop; and her son: David Allen Brown.
Funeral services for Mrs. Janette Brown Igo will be conducted on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 1pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Tony Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Janette Brown Igo will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 6-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.
Those acting as casket bearers are: Burlie Arnett, Ronnie Gross, David Collins, Nick Lewis, Dallas Hopkins, and Kevin Bishop. Honorary casket bearers are: Dale, Gene and Roy Bishop and Merle Asher.
