Mr. James Edd Taylor, age 94, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 29th, 2011 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

Edd was born on May 2, 1917 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; a son of late Thomas and Laura Sowder Taylor. On March 27, 1937 he was married to Zula Mae Shepherd and from that union came four children. Edd was a farmer, a blacksmith and a farrier. He enjoyed visiting and socializing with people. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of God.

Edd is survived by two sons: William Taylor (Mary) of Brodhead, Kentucky and Kenneth Taylor (Ima) of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, five great, great, great grandchildren, eight step-great, great, great grandchildren; Two daughter-in-laws: Sue Taylor of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and Christine Taylor of Quail, Kentucky and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, Edd is preceded in death by his wife: Zula Mae Shepherd Taylor; Two sons: Wayne Taylor and Robert Earl Taylor; Four brothers: William Milton Taylor, Hubert Taylor, John Taylor and Floyd Jesse Taylor; Two sisters: Margie Weaver and Elizabeth Isaacs .

Funeral services for Mr. James Edd Taylor will be conducted on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2 P.M. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel with Bro. Bobby Owens and Bro. Buford Parkerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. James Edd Taylor will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 6 -9 P.M. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Casket bearers are: Jessie Taylor, Billy Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Troy Taylor, David Taylor and Robbie Taylor.
