Mr. Horace David Hager, age 70, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

David was born on January 2, 1941 in Three Links, Kentucky, a son of the late Horace “Hoss” and Mary Stinnett Hager. On November 1, 1980 he was united in marriage to Janice Reynolds. He was a retired press operator for 39 years at Parker Seal in Berea, Kentucky and enjoyed horseback riding, camping and fishing.

David is survived by his wife: Janice Reynolds Hager of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; One son: Darrell Wayne Hager (Christie Green) of Roundstone, Kentucky; Two grandchildren: Caroline Kelsey Green and Ira David Hager; Four sisters: Elsie Centers, Ethel Anglin and Evelyn Ingram, all of Berea, Kentucky and Dorene Mathews (Floyd) of Indianapolis, Indiana; A nephew: Doug Centers (Brenda) and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many good friends who shared his love of trail riding.

Besides his parents, David is preceded in death by one son: Russell David Hager; One brother: Harvey Hager; One Sister: Jeanette Neeley and one half-brother: Odell Hager.

Funeral services for Mr. David Hager will be conducted on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 1 PM. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Chrisman and Bro. Rick Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson Cemetery in Cartersville, Kentucky.

Visitation for Mr. David Hager will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 6-9 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Markey Cancer Center, Lexington, Kentucky.

A Fellowship meal will follow at the home of Janice Hager at 108 Scaffold Cane Road, Mt. Vernon, KY.
