Mr. V.C. DeBord, age 84, widower of Gladys Marie Cottrel DeBord, of Fairfax, VA (formerly of KY and OH) passed away Wednesday, December 28th, 2011.

V.C. was born on January 29th, 1927 in Level Green, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Jonas DeBord and Tillo McClure DeBord. He was married to Gladys Marie Cottrel DeBord for 42 years. V.C. was a farmer, a foreman at #2 Pencil Factory and Office Equipment Factory, a Signal Corp in the U.S. Army, and an owner of a coin and antique store in Norwood, OH. He was a WWII Veteran. He attended Fairview Church of Christ until 1991, when he moved to VA, and attended Annadale, VA Church of Christ.

V.C. is survived by his two daughters: Donna Gail Morrissey (TJ) and Brenda Sue DeBord; his brother: Junior DeBord (Carolyn) and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

V.C. is preceded in death by his wife: Gladys Marie Cottrel DeBord; his parents: Jonas DeBord and Tillo McClure and five siblings: Sam, Burdette, Wanda, Ozzie and Alzie.

Visitation for Mr. V.C. DeBord was Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 from 5-7 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals chapel.

Funeral services for Mr. V.C. DeBord were conducted on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 at 11 A.M. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals chapel with Bro. Curtis Herrington officiating. Burial followed at the Fairview Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans.
