Mrs. Beatrice Delight Burdine, age 70, wife of Benjamin Kettry Burdine of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on January 20, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center.
Beatrice was born on December 21st, 1941 in Seymour, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late James and Ellen Mahoney Banks. On July 14th, 1990 she was united in marriage to Benjamin Kettry Burdine. She liked to read, write poems, sell real estate and watch Jeopardy. She was a member of Chimney Rock Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky and Eastern Star of Covington,Ky. She had been a Real Estate Agent with Hometown Realty.
Beatrice is survived by: her husband, Benjamin Kettry Burdine of Somerset, Kentucky; three step-children: Benny Burdine (Rhonda) of Lexington, Kentucky; Mark Burdine (Sylvia) of Rapid City, South Dakota; Shirley Phelps (Lawrence) of Somerset, Kentucky. Seven step-grandchildren: Jamie Phelps, Timothy Phelps, Stephanie Gossett, Calista Burdine, Brian Burdine, Steven Burdine, Tanja Burdine; seven step-great grandchildren: Caleb Phelps, Benjamin Phelps, Darnell Santiago, Liliana Santiago, Annabell Phelps, Josiah Phelps, Kendall Phelps and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Beatrice is preceded in death by: her parents, James and Ellen Mahoney Banks, her first husband-William H. Owens, and two brothers: Samuel and James Banks.
Visitation for Mrs. Beatrice Delight Burdine will be held on Sunday, January 22nd, 2012 at 6 P.M. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel in Brodhead, Kentucky.
Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Delight Burdine will be held on Monday, January 23rd, 2012 at 1 P.M. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel in Brodhead, Kentucky with Bro. Lonnie Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in the Freedom Cemetery.
