Mr. Willard Collinsworth, age 86, widower of Aline Smith Collinsworth of Brodhead, KY passed away on Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital, in Mt. Vernon, KY.

Willard was born on February 11th, 1926 in Lawton (Carter Co.), KY a son of the late Willie and Charlie Anna (Cozart) Collinsworth. On June 6th 1947 he married Aline Smith Collinsworth and from that union came three children Diedre, Darrell and Tamela. He was a welder in Mansfield Ohio for fifteen years at Perfection Coby Steel. He was also the Owner & Operator of the Renfro Valley Country Store for 31 years. His interest included hunting, fishing, watching UK Ball games & spending time with his family. Willard was also a fine baseball player in the Minor League in his youth. He was an Army Veteran. He fought In WWII with Company E 182nd Infantry Regiment on Leyte and Cebo Island in the Philippines. He was awarded a bronze star along with other various medals. He was a member of V.F.W., American Legion, Army Veteran, Hickory Grove Pentecostal Church and was a member of Ashland F&AM 640 Lodge.

Willard is survived by three children: Diedre Collinsworth-Norton (Wilburn Lee) of Berea, Darrell D. Collinsworth of Brindle Ridge and Tamela Alpha Collinsworth of Brindle Ridge; seven grandchildren: Michael Darrell (Tonya) Collinsworth of Copper Creek, Koula Verda Collinsworth Knox (Christopher) of Berea, Anthony Michael Cummins (Jessi) of Fairview, Tamela Callie Cummins of Brodhead and Andrew Willard Cummins of Brodhead, Cora Collinsworth of Brindle Ridge and John Collinsworth of Brindle Ridge; five great-grandchildren: Jacob Michael, Caleb William, Braxton Michael, Haliegh Jaden & Charlie Anna Rae; one sister: Thelma Clark of Mansfield, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.

Besides his parents, Willard is preceded in death by his wife Aline Smith Collinsworth; three brothers: Ernest, Charlie and Cecil Collinsworth and two sisters: Elsie Thomas and Rebecca Lowe.

The visitation for Mr. Willard Collinsworth will be on Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 at 6 P.M. at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals Chapel and Friday, March 23rd, 2012 from 11AM-1PM at Hickory Grove Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Willard Collinsworth will be on Friday, March 23rd, 2012 at 1PM at the Hickory Grove Pentecostal Church with Bro. Randal Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Saylor cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Michael, John, Ernie Lee Collinsworth, Andrew & Anthony Cummins and Mark Clark. Honorary bearers will be: Christopher Knox, Tim Clark, Chris Clark, Jim Bill Clark, Howard Saylor, and Raymond & Danny Lowe.
