Mrs. Shirley Jean (Cummins) Caudill, age 74, wife of Douglas Caudill of Brodhead, KY went to be with the Lord at the U.K. Medical Center on Monday, March 19th, 2012.

Shirley was born on December 7th, 1937 in Livingston, KY to the late James Virgil Cummins and Mary Christine Livesay Cummins Taylor. She was married to Douglas Caudill on February 28th, 1959 and from that union came five children. She was a Cosmetologist and housewife. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, collecting crystal figurines, gardening, watching hummingbirds and being a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Those left to mourn Shirley’s passing include: her loving husband of 53 years, Douglas Caudill; four children: Douglas Myron Caudill of Berea, KY, Steven Duane (Marsha) Caudill of Brodhead, KY, Gary Shawn Caudill of Brodhead, KY and Sharon Caudill Ponder of Brodhead, KY; one special daughter-in-law: Karen Marie Sloat of Brodhead, KY; five grandchildren: Douglas-Dell Ponder, Jeremiah T. Caudill, Kaitlin D. Caudill, Olivia C. Caudill and Taylor Rose Sloat; three sisters: Elva James Newman (Dewey) of Lexington, KY, Melonye Fugate (Virgil) of Lexington, KY and Rhonda Gregory of Lexington, KY and a many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Randall Alan Caudill and her infant brother, Jesse Michael Taylor.

Visitation for Mrs. Caudill will be Saturday, March 24th, 2012 from 6 – 9 PM at Bible Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Caudill will be conducted Sunday, March 25th, 2012 at 2 PM, with Bro. Don Stayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakhill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Shirley’s memory to the Bible Baptist Building Fund or the Bible Baptist Ladies Fellowship Group.
