Mrs. Doris Marie (Blanton) Brummett, age 76, widow of the late E.L. Brummett of Lancaster, KY passed away on Wednesday, March 21st, 2012 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Doris was born on April 21st, 1935 in Harlen, KY to the late Matt and Amanda McQueary Blanton. She married E.L. Brummett on April 23rd, 1952, and from that union came five children. She was a housewife. She enjoyed family get togethers, collecting coins and walking and she was of the Baptist faith.
Doris is survived by: five children: Joyce Ann Woods of Lake Placid, FL, Kenneth Brummett of Lancaster, KY, Linda Patterson (Ronald) of Crab Orchard, KY, Ansel Brummett (Cassie) of Danville, KY and James Brummett (Debbie) of Lancaster, KY; eight grandchildren: Brian Bailey (Cheryl), Jamie Bailey, Austin Brummett (Amy), Dudley Brummett, Jada Brady (Chris), Lanetta Lunsford (Jason), Rhonda Patterson and Arrin Patterson; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; four brothers: James Blanton (Beverly) of Cleveland, OH, Bobby Blanton (Faye) of Berea, KY, Robert Blanton (Betty Bess) of Lexington, KY and George Blanton (Cindy) of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters: Joyce Ables of Cleveland, OH, Beatrice Carnes of Cincinnati, OH and Mary Blanton of Richmond, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents, Doris is preceded in death by: a sister, Carolyn DeBoard; two nephews: Rodney and Delbert DeBoard and a brother: Paul Blanton.
The visitation for Mrs. Doris Marie Brummett will be Friday, March 23rd, 2012 from 11 AM – 2 PM.
The funeral for Mrs. Doris Marie Brummett will be Friday March 23rd, 2012 at 2 PM with Bro. R.C. Flynn officiating. Burial will follow at Negro Creek Cemetery. Casket bearers include: Brian & Jamie Bailey, Austin & Dudley Brummett, Chris Brady and Arrin Patterson.
