Mr. William Arnold DeBord, age 69, husband of Helen, of Stanford, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Arnold entered into this life on July 8, 1942 in Somerset, Kentucky, the son of George Benton and Virginia Estella Turner DeBord, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Sowder on January 2, 1964 and to this union came five children. Arnold bravely served his country as a soldier in the United States Army, rising to the rank of SPC5 and retired from Bosch-Rexroth as a Production Scheduler, after 42 years of dedicated service. He attended the New Hope Church of God, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the North American Hunting Club. Arnold will be remembered for enjoying fishing, hunting and gardening, for being an avid U.K. fan and for his love of spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Arnold will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Helen Fletcher DeBord of Stanford, Kentucky; five children: Tami Bargen and her husband Curt of Omaha, Nebraska, Bill DeBord and his wife Merideth of Lancaster, Kentucky, James “Jamie” DeBord and his wife Twyla of Stanford, Kentucky, Stephanie Whitenack and her husband Mike of Owenton, Kentucky and George Benton DeBord and his wife Betsy of Stanford, Kentucky; two step-daughters: Michell Caudill and her husband Joe of McKinney, Kentucky and Dawn Smith of Danville, Kentucky; twenty-two grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters: Bonnie Overbay of Brodhead, Kentucky and Wanda Johnson and her husband Elmer of Mitchelsburg, Kentucky and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his parents: George Benton and Virginia Estella Turner DeBord, his first wife: Charlotte Sowder DeBord, one sister: Irene Benge and two brothers: Winfred DeBord and infant, Harold DeBord.
