Lydia Elizabeth Beach Fields, 84, Shelbyville, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, April 29, 2005. She was a native of Shelbyville and the daughter of the late Elizabeth Forker and Willie Beach.
She was a caregiver throughout her lifetime and worked for numerous families in Shelbyville and Shelby County. In her earlier years, she worked at Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville and at Thomas Funeral Home in Pleasureville, KY. She spent most of her time raising her children and the children of many of her employers. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading. She was a faithful and devoted member of Clay Street Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, served on the Missionary Board and participated in the Educational Society. She attended Sunday School regularly and supported her church in every way that she could.
One daughter, Delois F. Payne, preceded her in death in addition to her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Estella Fields Johnson of Shelbyville and Wanda Fields Stewart of Bowie, MD; seven grandchildren, Anthony Payne, William "Billy" Payne, Dornah Mooney Blunt, Timothy Payne, Aaron Mooney, Faith Mack and Jacqueline "Jackie" Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
