Mamie Crittendon Mickie, 100, Shelbyville, died Wednesday, July 20 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville after an illness. She was a native of Shelbyville, the widow of Arthur Mickie and the daughter of the late John L. and Malinda Marshall Crittendon.
She was a self-employed housekeeper throughout her lifetime. She took in laundry and cared for her family. She loved to sew, to cook and to garden.
She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, and she was a former, long-time member of the Clay Street Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and her parents, one infant son, Peter; four brothers, Gilbert, Lewis, Phillip and Wallace Crittendon and one sister, Grace Moore, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Elise L. (Fred) Walker of Louisville; three grandchildren, Christopher Douglas (Rattikan May) Walker, Kimberly Nicole Walker-Milby and April Danielle Walker, all of Louisville; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Milby, Michael Milby Jr., Regan Walker and Jaden Laniah Walker, all of Louisville and a host of nieces and nephews.
