James Edward Marshall, 73, Shelbyville, passed away Monday, July 17, 2006 at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville following a brief illness. A native of Finchville, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Anna Louise Sheckles Marshall. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an auto body repairman for Morehead Chevrolet in Crestwood prior to his retirement. In his leisure time, he enjoyed sports of all types. At the time of his death, he was serving as vice president of the Hornet Club, and he is also a past president of this group. He was a devoted member of the Allen Chapel United Methodist Church. Two brothers, John Dawson Marshall and Clyde William Marshall and one sister, Eula Leola Marshall, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Ole Bell Marshall of Shelbyville; seven daughters, Anna Lorraine Jackson, Lucille Lynne Marshall, Gwenella Carroll Marshall, Sandra Katherine Marshall, Artavia Marshall Acklin and Lillian Darsall “DaDa” Shouse, all of Shelbyville and Kathy Hicks of Lexington; three sons, Patrick Dawson Marshall of Chicago Heights, IL, James Michael Marshall of Los Angeles, CA and David Wesley Marshall of Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Estelle Marshall of Shelbyville; one brother, Rev. Robert M. Marshall, Sr. of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rev. Robert M. Marshall, Sr. will deliver the eulogy at the funeral services on Thursday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
