Linda Lee Crittendon, 62, Shelbyville, passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 at Baptist Hospital Northeast Hospice Unit in LaGrange following a long and valiant battle with cancer. A native of Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Louis Crittendon and Ethel Dirks.
She was a graduate of Lincoln Institute and attended Kentucky State University for three years where she majored in business management/business administration. She was retired from Kentucky State Government where she worked in Vital Statistics for more than 30 years.
She was a lifelong and devoted member of St. John United Methodist Church, where she served as president of the Usher Board. She was very active in her church. Her nieces and nephews filled her leisure time away from church and work activities. She was very devoted to them, and they were the highlight of her life.
Survivors include two sisters, Etta Murphy-Coleman of Louisville and Anna D. Crittendon of Shelbyville; one brother, Claude E. Crittendon of Shelbyville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rev. Robert M. Marshall, Sr. will deliver the eulogy at the funeral services on Thursday. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Robinson, Danny Wooten, Gilbert Thomas, Clark Murphy, Don Slaughter, Robert Marshall and Carlton McCray. Active pallbearers will be Phillip Crittendon, Jamie Crittendon, Dana Crittendon, Reginald Hicks, Darryl Hicks, Mark Bradford, Barry Marshall and Ronnie Baker, Jr. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. John United Methodist Church Building Fund.
