William Harrison “Hercle” Beach, 75, Bagdad, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007 at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville following an illness. A native of Shelbyville, he was the son of the late John Steven Beach and Nancy Thomas Beach.
He was a floor supervisor at Aubrey-Kent Feed Mill in Louisville for many years. He also worked for Long Block Company in Shelbyville in his early years. He was a former member of Christianburg Methodist Church. He had newly accepted Christ during his illness. In his leisure time, he loved to cook and was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, one brother, Steven Earl Beach, and two sisters, Shirley Beach Stone and Jessie Lee Stone, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Virginia F. Beach of Bagdad; three daughters, Mae Wallace Beach Bray, Linda Sueann Beach Patterson and Brenda Faye Higgins, all of Shelbyville; one son, William Morris Beach of Shelbyville; two sisters, Anna Lee Elzy of Shelbyville and Nancy Meriweather of Louisville; five brothers, David Stone, Walter Stone, Charles Stone, Ronnie Baker and James Baker, all of Shelbyville; one extended family member, John Allen Beach of Bagdad who has lived with this family for 51 years; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be a private graveside service on Saturday, January 5, 2008. Rev. Theodore Todd will officiate at the private graveside service on Saturday.
