Rev. Elmore A. Wilson, Jr., 60, Louisville, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008 at his home following an illness. A native of Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Evelyn Jackson Wilson and Elmore A. Wilson, Sr. He was retired from General Electric Company with 35 years service. He had served as pastor or associate pastor with many congregations, including St. John United Methodist Church, Clay Street Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Frankfort, First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown, Claire Memorial United Methodist Church of Irvington and Kenwood Northeast Church in Louisville. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church.
His first wife, Sheila Walker Wilson and one sister, Iona Hunter, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 15 years, Danna Jones Wilson of Louisville; one daughter, Hope E. (Barry) Johnson of Louisville; one son, Elmore A. Wilson III of Louisville; ten brothers and sisters, Sylvia E. (Thomas) Marshall, Emily A. Wilson, Lacy O. Wilson, Sherman E. Wilson and Gregory (Marla) Hunter, all of Shelbyville, Barbara L. Wilson and Mary E. (Leon) Benson, both of Louisville, Brenda J. Wilson and Bernice M. (Rev. Eric) Barnes, both of Frankfort and Lucian (Kimberly) Hunter of Simpsonville; three grandchildren, Barry C. Johnson III, Ethan A. Johnson and Cole W. Johnson, all of Louisville and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rev. Robert M. Marshall, Sr. will deliver the eulogy at the funeral services.
