Clay Benton Young, 73, died Monday, July 23rd in Shelbyville. He was a farmer, a tobacco warehouseman, and the last surviving member of the Bagdad Christian Church. He was also a former member of the Bagdad Ruritan Club and a former board member of the Bagdad Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl M. Young, Sr. and Mabel Moore Young. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Young of Bagdad; his daughter, Kathy (Mrs. Jimmy) Baxter of Bagdad; his sons, Michael (Marcie) Young and Benton (Michelle) Young, both of Bagdad; and his 9 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Shannon Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Waterfill officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bagdad Cemetery.
