Jean Engelmeyer, 69, died Wednesday, November 12th in Louisville. She was a native of Lebanon Junction and a resident of Todds Point. She was a homemaker but also had worked for the Allen M. Berry Company (the old Yellow Pages) and as a realtor for Betty Schutte Realty. She also was a former employee for Government Employee Stores (GES) in the jewelry department. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she served as a trustee and treasurer. She was former member of the Jeffersontown Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and a former member of the Meadow Heights Women's Club in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband, Herman H. Engelmeyer of Todds Point; her daughters, Robin Lichtefeld and Rhonda Renn, both of Louisville; her brother, Dr. Charles Riggs of Maryland; and her grandchildren, Corey, Matthew, and Stephen Lichtefeld, all of Louisville and Christopher, Sarah, and Lynda Renn, all of Louisville.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at Todds Point. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Friday at the Shannon Funeral Home and 12 Noon-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
