James A. French, 89, died Friday, May 29th in Shelbyville. He was a World War II Army veteran, a liaison with Louisville Gas & Electric where he had worked for over 30 years, and a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation. He also had helped with the Meal On Wheels program.
He is survived by his wife, Almeta Crow French of Shelbyville; his daughter, Linda S. Lund (Jim) of Noblesville, IN; his sons, James T. French of Panama City Beach, FL, Richard K. French (Becky) of Louisville, Ronald J. French (Joyce) of Bardstown, David C. French (Charlene) of Erlanger, Michael P. French (Janice) of DeSoto, Kansas, and Donald S. French of Louisville; his brother, Bill French of Elizabethtown; and 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Elliot French.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation with Father Bill Bowling officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Monday at the Shannon Funeral Home along with a prayer vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Entombment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
